Congratulations, Class of 2024!
Every spring as I prepare my speeches for graduation ceremonies, I like to sit down with a group of soon-to-be graduates to get to know them better and learn about their high school experiences.
When I sit down with members of the graduating class and talk about their goals, their successes, and the diverse paths each one has chosen, I always leave the conversation inspired. It’s one of my favorite things to do, and always a good reminder of why we do what we do every day. And, in the busy month of May, as schools are buzzing with activities, final projects, AP and IB exams, field days, theme days, playoffs, awards, graduation ceremonies and more, it is important to find a way to pause and appreciate each moment. Talking with our soon-to-be graduates is just such a moment.
Here are a few of the inspiring things they shared:
- They are resilient. For the class of 2024, their first year of high school – 2020 – was unpredictable. But they found ways to connect, and they persevered. That spirit of resilience continues to this day.
- They care about each other and their community. They work hard for change, mentor underclassmen, and selflessly devote their time to support everything from mental health awareness to solutions for the unhoused.
- They appreciate what they have. They didn’t have the same level of access to clubs, activities, and sports that classes before them had when they began high school. They were truly grateful when those opportunities returned at full capacity and never took those chances to connect for granted.
- They are prepared for the future of their choice, thanks to support and encouragement from those around them and programs and classes that set them up for success on their paths to college, career, military service, or whatever lies beyond graduation.
- They are destined for great things – the Class of 2024 is dispersing to New York, California, and everywhere in between. No matter where they go, though, they insist they will never forget the lessons learned and friendships forged here in 澳门六合彩.
Parents and guardians of seniors, I want to congratulate you on raising amazing children. Everything I’ve heard from students left me encouraged and confident that the next generation is wise beyond their years and equipped for what lies ahead.
Teachers and staff, I want to thank you for everything you’ve done to help our graduates get to where they are. You helped them navigate the college application process, select and succeed in classes that prepared them to graduate with options, and you support their mental health and social-emotional well-being. I want you to know how much I appreciate you.
Finally, to the graduating class – I am proud of you, as are so many people in your lives. You have demonstrated resilience, compassion, and dedication throughout your time in 澳门六合彩. You have accomplished so much already, and I cannot wait to see what you accomplish next. Congratulations!

Moving forward as a community, it will take all of us working in tandem to effectively allocate our time, people and resources in ways that align with the goal of achievement for all students.
